Corporate volunteering
Corporate volunteering is a way of supporting charities, non-profits or public interest initiatives, whereby a company lends its employees’ skills.
Econocom aims to use its employees’ expertise to support selected non-profit organisations, thereby encouraging them to do their civic duty and increase their social responsibility.
Corporate volunteering is thus a way of making our employees the main ambassadors for our CSR approach by putting it into practice in the field.
Social commitment
An employee could, for example, help a young person in a precarious situation or a person with a disability to find a job: this would not only have a direct impact on the person concerned, but also improve the employee’s awareness of social inequalities and enable them to contribute to building a more inclusive society.
Environmental commitment
Another example: by joining a team to collect waste, you can not only directly contribute to making a cleaner planet, but also gain insights into waste management and reduce your own environmental footprint.

Vendredi is an employee volunteering platform that gives employees the chance to get involved in major social causes by spending some of their working hours doing charity or volunteer work.
Founded over ten years ago, Vendredi enables companies to involve their employees in tangible initiatives such as corporate volunteering, charity work or raising awareness, and thus have a positive impact on society.
The aim is simple: to give each employee the opportunity to do their bit, via their company.
Julian Guerin is proud of the strong partnerships he’s built between non-profit organisations and employees and wants to continue doing so.
What Vendredi does
Our partner Vendredi plays a key role in organising corporate volunteering schemes, thanks to its online platform which makes it easy to:
- Put Econocom in touch with beneficiary organisations;
- Organise volunteering projects and assesses their impact;
- Handle the administrative aspects, thanks to the HR teams of the group’s companies.
What makes Vendredi stand out is its ability to choose the right corporate volunteering scheme to suit the needs of each non-profit association – which saves considerable time for both the beneficiary organisations and the Econocom group.
Employee engagement is the key to the success of companies’ green transition.

3 types of volunteer projects:
- Coaching and mentoring: one-off or regular sessions for members of beneficiary organisations.
- Skills sponsorship: whereby employees help non-profits by lending them specific professional skills.
- “Helping hand” projects: one-off schemes which don’t require any specific skills.
3 steps of Vendredi's future development:
- Continue to make volunteer work more accessible by enabling “unconnected” employees to do their bit.
- Better address the beneficiary organisations’ ever-changing needs and increase companies’ engagement to give their employees the chance to lend their time and skills.
- Develop new ways of helping and volunteering, particularly in terms of getting employees more involved within their company, for example, by taking measures to reduce their carbon footprint or setting up workshops to debate on disability issues.
3 pieces of advice to companies to get their employees involved:
- Make it easier for them: make the Vendredi platform available via their everyday IT tools (e.g. intranet, etc).
- Lead by example: get Management involved in volunteer projects.
- Communicate regularly on how to volunteer and how easy it is.
As announced by Vendredi’s co-founder, the platform has merged with its main competitor and, as of January 2025, is called Komeet.
The two companies have joined forces to become France’s leading employee engagement player. Komeet also ultimately plans to expand around Europe.
